Canadian Greats

So the four of us (Jess, Lulu, Steve, & I) went to Toronto, Ontario to day trip and see Ninjasonik (myspace.com/ninjasonik) and Japanther (myspace.com/Japanther)on Sunday the fifth. Fortunately enough, the day held out from rain and continued with beautiful sunny skies and light winds.

As far as fashion goes, most of the things we saw were lots of Asian and Asian inspired trends and garments. My Camera at this point did not work due to a dead battery.

All in all this trip was a success. I suggest the Kensington Market & Queen street in the downtown area of Toronto as well as their China town for very very cheap fruit, veggies, and Peacock feathers

It's NYLON's Anniversary this month and they put out a special Issue on a very thin Lindsay Lohan... ek! (Someone needs to come to Buffalo at do what's best here; eat). I'm not 100% concerned about her however, the fashions I am. This whole Neon colored everything is sort of hurting my classic outlook on fashion. Staples of a lady's closet are being thrown away for neon colored leggings and hoodies with massive amounts of obnoxious screen prints. Fortunately enough, designers like Marc Jacobs & Lark & Wolfe (found at Urban Outfitters) have romanticized the 20's with flares of over sized 90's grunge looks.

While traveling through yet another rust belt town Pittsburgh, PA did not fail to amuse my thrift store/ antiquing journeys. While walking down E. Carson Ave in the Southside Flats area (Birmingham) I came across SLACKER located at 1321 East Carson st. 15203.

At SLACKER I found a variety of early 1940's TIME Magazines priced at $4.99 a piece. Thankfully, the owner Tom was grecious enough to give a girl a break at $15 for four of them.

Another treasure I came across was meeting Dennis on the Strip District in PGH. Dennis is a long running photographer who's passion fell into his career. He reprints old photographs handles them with care and wraps them in nice plastic and a piece of firm cardboard to back them up. Considering my love for photography is growing, I found this one to be a 'graph of inspiration.
