So, recently I've been frequenting India Gate's (1116 Elmwood Ave) buffet during their lunch hours (11:30-2:30) & Wednesday dinner buffet (4:30-9:30) and I've seen many individuals compose various table manners that tend to discuss the buffet seeking eater. :::WARNING::: this may be gross or tickle a hint of jolliness to your thought(s). Here are the buffet's table manner do's & don'ts:
DO'S
- eat as much as you can until you pass out
- enjoy the aroma's of all that Indian food
- take a new plate every time you go up to the buffet
- do not ask for chop sticks
- make sure you eat nothing else for the day
- pretend that you know how to say each word on the menu
- try not to drink too much water
- remember to tip!
- sing while your mouth is tasting each curried tofu, chicken, lamb, etc.
- take as much as you think you can finish in a normal ordering setting
- try not to stick your face underneath the glass to see what's in the creamy goop
- use the same plate each time you go up to the buffet
- test the food first before you go to an India food buffet. Your tummy may not agree with your adventurous taste buds.
- do not pick at the food
- do not breathe heavily over the food aka salivate while waiting in the longest food line ever.
- do not leave without tipping! Just because the servers only bring you the naan, water (chai, etc.) and bring you your check this doesn't mean you get away scott free. The servers are working hard to bring you fresh food when you dine and replenish clean plates, pipping hot food, & other amenities while buffeting.
